A mini session is a 30 minute, one-on-one mindful coaching session through phone, Skype, Zoom or Whatsapp. We will meditate, you can share what’s on your mind and I will enquire about your experiences. Just like in a training session we will focus on being present with whatever is your current experience.
There can be many reasons to book a mini session. Maybe you want to treat yourself to some quality time. Maybe you miss sharing mindfulness with someone else. Maybe you just need a nudge to start practicing. But probably you are facing some difficulty or another.
Often when we encounter difficulties, in daily life or in meditation, we tend to resist how things are. We either fight it, freeze, or run away from it, using automated reactions. Sometimes those actions can be helpful. Unfortunately, often automatic reactions do not help a situation.
During a mindful nudge we friendly turn our attention to the present moment, creating room for whatever needs to come to the fore front. Sometimes giving space is enough to get you going, sometimes a clear action will bubble up. Sometimes we cannot influence a situation and we can only improve our relationship to it. Then we will simply practice being with it, with kindness and compassion.
We will start the mindful nudge by taking a breathing space to fully arrive in the present moment.
I will then give you the space to share whatever is on your mind through co-listening: I will listen with full attention without interuption, comments or judgement. After about 7 minutes I will respond. We can discuss specific topics if you choose, and I will give you counseling on request. We will continue with a meditation of your choice, followed by a short enquiry. We will complete the session with taking a moment to contemplate the questions: ‘what do you need now?’ and ‘What action can you take towards taking care of you or your situation?’
A mini session is ment for anyone who has experience with meditation and/or mindfulness. It is not suitable as a quick fix for problems, but it can help to reconnect with your mindful awareness.
